The follower of knowledge learns as much as he can every day;
The follower of the Way forgets as much as he can every day.
By attrition he reaches a state of inaction
Wherein he does nothing, but nothing remains undone.
To conquer the world, accomplish nothing;
If you must accomplish something,
The world remains beyond conquest.

to work toward Obama's history-making election. Get on it!
PALIN: (hesitates, shifts in her chair, then decides that offense is the best defence) In what respect, Charlie?
GIBSON: )stumbles, clearly nonplussed by her inability to answer the question) The Bush...What do you interpret it to be?
PALIN: (snarkily) His world view?
GISBON: (recovering) No, the Bush Doctrine, enunciated September, 2002, before the Iraq War
PALIN: I believe that what President Bush has attempted to do is rid this world of Islamic extremism, terrorists who are hell-bent in destroying our nation. There have been blunders along the way, though. There have been mistakes made, and with new leadership, and that's the beauty of American elections, of course, and democracy, is with new leadership comes opportunity to do things better.
This didn't even come close to answering the question. Sarah Palin has been nominated to be Vice-President of the United States and she doesn't understand that President Bush has completely changed the diplomatic posture of the United States toward international aggression by stating in the National Security Strategy from September 2002 "While the United States will constantly strive to enlist the support of the international community, we will not hesitate to act alone, if necessary, to exercise our right of self defense by acting preemptively against such terrorists, to prevent them from doing harm against our people and our country."
The key word in there is "preemptively". The United States has always kept the right of self-defense, and to strike back at aggression. The fact is, I could have easily paraphrased the Bush Doctrine, and so could any moderately politically aware citizen of the United States, and I would imagine that the vast majority of those people would have included the word "preemptive", because that's the core.
She's not just a lightweight on foreign policy. She's dangerously uninformed.
Just watch her reaction. She believes that she can talk her way out of anything. I don't think that our enemies are going to be impressed by this:
